Lisa Gade reviews the 15.6” Lenovo ThinkPad P51 mobile workstation that’s available with Intel 7th gen quad core 45 watt CPUs and Intel Xeon CPUs. Mobile workstations have slimmed down and lost weight, and this one isn’t much larger than a 15” Ultrabook, though it’s just thick enough to house powerful dual fan cooling, a removable battery and easily accessible internals. The laptop is available with NVIDIA Quadro M1200 and M2200 4GB GDDR5 graphics, up to 64GB RAM, and it has 2 M.2 PCIe NVMe compatible SSD bays (RAID is available) and a 2.5” drive bay. Full HD and a 4K UHD 100% Adobe RGB wide gamut display IPS display are available and an X-Rite Pantone built-in calibration device is optional.
