The Envy x360 is the more affordable counterpart to the HP Spectre x360 15”, and it has a similar design and a metal casing minus the fancier Spectre x360 high end finishes and design touches. The Envy goes up against the similarly priced 15” Dell Inspiron 7000 2-in-1 and we look at the $799 stock config that was provided by Computer Upgrade King on loan. The laptop runs Windows 10 Home on the quad core, 15 watt Intel Core i7-8550U CPU with 12GB DDR4 RAM and a 1TB 7200 RPM HDD. It has 2 RAM slots, an M.2 SSD drive bay supporting PCIe NVMe SSDs (optional) and a 2.5” drive bay. A full HP IPS touch screen is standard (no active pen support), as is a backlit keyboard with number pad and Synaptics track pad.
